In my garden......

It's been quite awhile for me to indulge in gardening due to the extreme weather lately... it was very hot n humid but thank God these past days are a little bit cooler.
I luv to to be in my garden n among my plants....they sort of give me peace of mind n contentment..... Jus cant
believe they've grown so fast....i did it with my two bare hands n of course with the help of my (setia kawan) maid, Seri.... cant imagine life without her.She's everything to me...my gardener, cleaner, consultant, etc...she's with me for the past ten years.

Salam Maulidur Rasul.....

During the month of maulidur rasul there're so many programs shown on tv n even 'ceramah' organised by individual for our beloved prophet Muhammad SAW as the chosen one n his life journey.....
Looking at his wondrous personality, none of his umat could ever be like him . And if most of  us could at least have half of his personality than what better place this world could be.....
Patience, forgiving, loving n caring n obedient towards God's teaching are all of his good qualities that we
should follow n practise.
Yesterday i've attended a ceramah sempena maulidur rasul at one of my neighbour's hse, Dato Wira Jamaluddin....The talk was given by Ustaz Harith Fadhillah fr.Jabatan Ugama Islam. Unfortunately there were only a few of us... since it was on Saturday, i guess some of them could have gone out station for weddings or what not....
What better words to express our prophet Muhammad SAW characters  n his  preaching to the people of  arabs during the 'jahilliah' times....
If only we could have his strong character when facing any obstacles that come in our daily life.....be it our relationship within our family circle or with the people other than our family than life would be as sweet as roses....
One thing that really captured my heart... whatever we do n no matter  how hard we tried everything is already fated n that ALLAH only knew....but that should not be the reason for us to stop trying....i believe that if our hearts are sincere n redha in whatever things that we do or ask for than there's no reason why we should fail. And if we should fail just accept it n live with what we have..there are others who are less fortunate than us..life is not always a bed of roses..Ikut sunnah Nabi Muhammad SAW, always start everything with a 'sincere heart' n an ever ready 'smile' n everything will be fine.......insyaLLAH

FOOd FOr THOUGHt

My first post of recipe : lemon poppy seed cake....delicious! though it's my first time baking it, it taste better when you pour the lemon syrup on top of the cake n let it sit for awhile before you cut n ready to eat!

No not rice again! that's what my other half told me...ok i'll bake pizza then...after all i still have to cook for tonite! We were not having lunch at home that Sunday. I was out lunch with the boys at a wedding ceremony n my other half lunched at the golf club after a golf competition. Pizza is one of my boys favourite n i've been baking it eversince.

It's all started when these books were given to me by my dear friend Datin Bashriah. It gives me the urge to try beading....not that i'm so good but i do get some compliments from friends n family..ahak

Trial n Error

Farewell for our Pengerusi Puspanita, Datin Seri Faridah was held at Suk banquet hall on the 13th January. The guest of honour for the day was Yang Amat Mulia Raja Puan Muda Perak, Raja Mahani  Raja Shahar Shah. We'd also invited our 'penaung puspanita', wife of the Mentri Besar, Datin Seri Saripah  Zulkifli....
Though there were a few unforeseen error, the shows performed  by the ahli2 puspanita had saved the day....The 'Golden girls' that's what we called ourselves had done a very good job in entertaining the guest by dancing to the bollywood beats n flirting in the beautiful colours of sarees...Yup! it was awesome..there were big applause n hoorays from the ladies crowd....maklum le makcik2 yg perform mane tak gamat dewan!
Semuanye itu adalah kenangan manis ku yg.masih lagi ahli yang aktif...come to think of it bagus juga... at least my leisure time is occupied....entah le bila dah pencen nanti i dont think i'll be as active as now.
Dulu masa anak2 ku masih kecil n my hubby was sick, my attention was fully on them n my home...memang tak ada masa langsung for other things...tapi bila semua nye dah membesar, my  other half pun dah succesfully underwent kidney transplant  n thanks to my hardworking , trust worthy maid, my life has change completely...so now give me a break ok ...let me laugh a little, ya...he..he..he..
Seriously.....being one of the ahli this is part of my contribution to the society.....
Dont get me wrong ya...Puspanita  is not about entertaining only...that was just some part of it. Other than that we do have activities of  social works like giving contribution to the orphanage, the poor etc.
Besides that, we've organised  seminars n courses  to upgrade our knowledge in religion,  health, grooming, computers,cooking n many more....

"HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR"........

 Saturday was such a hectic day for my faiz n dira....they were driving from 6.30 to 11am just to get to

  Ipoh from KL...imagine all that long hours in the car.The best part is when they tried to avoid the jam by going to the old road n walla the cars were all bumper to bumper...kesian anak2 mama....

On the eve of CNW, we took the children to an exhibition of Perak Sultanate at the Town Hall. It's a good exposure for the younger generation to know about the origin of  Sultans n their lines....

We should educate our chidren about our cultures n heritage... But like many other teenagers,my youngest son, lukman , was saying  ma "do we have to go.... we can get the info of the sultanate or whatever from the inter-net " Huh! the new era of tecnology is making everyone to be so anti social....

There were sounds  like thunder storm that very night ........prom pom pompom...prom pom pompom.....roaring in the late night. Well as usual on the eve of every chinese new year n even the nights after that we will be able to hear this same thunderous sound.....i guess that's one of their ways of enlightening their happy year... Same goes with the malays we have this 'panjut' or a number of lights put in small tin cases n we arrange them decoratively, but it's a bit quieter this way!  Any way wish all the chinese 'HAPPY NEW YEAR'. May the year be prosperous N JOYFUL ! 

Happiness is.....

Nothing  is more satisfying than to be spending precious time with  our children especially  when    some of them are no longer staying with us...
My second son ,Faiz has just been offered a job in KL n will be staying with his eldest sister, Dira. Though it should be great news, but i feel suddenly old n lonely...dah besar anak mama. And even  then my youngest son is staying away from home in UITM, Bkt. Mertajam. I know that someday they'll be flying out from their nest...leading their own lives....but being a mother sometimes it do hurt inside....( my children are the apples of my eyes ).

During the Christmas holidays, the whole family  were in KL...spending as much  time together as possible. As usual one of the outing is of course  shopping lah (hah! i cant help that ) It's the year end sale!!

On the 31st.December, we had a 'doa selamat n kesyukuran' at our home. A great way to end the year of  2011. We'd invited very close family n relatives only...it's sort of saying thank you to Allah for all the  good things that are offered in our lives thru out the years...'syukur alhamdullilah'............

HAPPY NEW YEAR!....may it be a good year for everyone,insyallah......

Busy,busy, busyyy......

Looks like we're going to be busy again preparing for D.Hanim's farewell treat... The four of us D.Feroza, D.Faezah,Wahidah and me of course, performed an arabic dance...though it was a last minute effort we had performed rather well..kah..kah..kah!!

The tea-party was held at Impiana on the 2nd.November by 'Puspanita' in conjunction of  Datin Hanim's retirement as Timbalan Pengerusi Puspanita Perak. It was a ladies affair n the theme of the day was 'arabic' attire. Overall it was a successful  evening n everyone had a great time....

 I  was called for another practise in a group 'choir ' organised by Baiduri. (eh,macam artis pulak). A few of the NGOs n Puspanita were involved in the choir...The high tea was held in conjunction of celebrating the birthday of the The Royal Highness Permaisuri Sultan of Perak, Raja Bainun. It was done in Menteri Besar 's residence...The high lite of the day was none other than the best vocalist  Adibah Nor. She really make the atmosphere alive with her sweet voice n witty remarks...The hall was decorated beautifully in orange, the colour of the day...

Towards the end of  November my other half n me flew to Sabah for a work trip....There seem to be alot of changes in Sabah after my last trip ten years ago. It's growing rapidly...The meeting took place in the resort of Karambunai.. What heavenly place it was! The scenery is beautiful n the air is so fresh ...sesuai sgt.for newly weds... Sadly though i only  managed to take one picture....
