It's Mother's Day again!

Assalammualaikum....

During the weekend, we took the children to kl. The main intention was to attend a wedding. It's a wedding of my hubby's nephew...and as usual i will make time for shopping!....sambil menyelam minum air....ahaa!

Bukan itu je, i become a maid to my children in kl....i spring clean my house in SJ....kesian kat my two

angels, pegi office dah la awal, balik pulak dengan jam lagi, mana la sempat nak clean and wash. They did but in their own ways....masih berserabut to me. ( i hope my gal is not reading this ) hehehe

As for my dear sis Iha...i'm sorry for not going to your place....time is so limited....next trip ok!

Meanwhile, last Thursday biro ahli seumur hidup (ASH ) organised a tea party. It was the celebration of Mother's Day! The idea for the particular function came from D.Feroza, we were just helping her out.The actual plan was about one hundred plus but after a good reponse we decided to invite more guest. Finally, we paid for a bigger hall at The Waterfront Hotel. It was in the afternoon around 3pm. The evening start with a health talk by Dr.Azlin from G.H.T.Rambutan regarding osteoporosis. After all it's ladies affair! The evening were full with shows done by our ahli and most of us were sporting enough to take part in sketches, bersajak, karaoke singing and dancing. We do have some interesting games where the winners will get some interesting gifts n we'd also a competition of the most well dress for the evening....but unfortunately i tak menang (kalau menang pun i'll give it to others...hahaha....bagi la chance kat ahli lain pulak,other than the ajk ).


Well u can say it's D.Hanim was the one to enlighten the atmosphere. If it wasnt for her the evening was quite dull. Everybody is expecting somebody to make the move to be noisy and to show some extra fun. She was infact everything for the evening...the m.c, one of the unpaid singer and she recite sajak very well indeed! To make the evening more interesting we'd requested everyone to bring along a simple gift of not more than 10rm to exchange with one another.....oolala! everyone had a great time.........

Give them some credit

Phew .......what a fright! As i was driving down the road between the market ( superkinta ) and mcdonald, (cant remember the name of the road ), i was shocked of my life when this guy was running hurriedly in front of my car towards the road to mcdonald, he was chased by this very young policeman. Entah la what crime had he committed. It was just like in the movies. Kesian la tengok polis tu, jatuh tersungkur atas jalan raya yg. bertar trying to grab the villain's leg but his effort was to no avail. Mana tak that villain looks very tough n maybe in his mid forties. Wah dahsyat la i could remember all that...silap2 i jadi witness stand  pulak.

 So back to the story, nasib baik all the cars had to stop for the traffic light was red or else sapa langgar sapa....See how tough it is to be a police!...they have to do all the dirty work that no one like us dare to do kan. So let us be fortunate n thankful for having these men in uniform, our policemen for they have sacrifice their time, effort and even their lives so as to keep us safe from being harm. However they are human they do make mistake like us too...but dont condemn lol for most of them have served us through out our lives and that no words can truly express. Thank you, thank you, thank you and may god bless you!

I just dont understand why some people likes to complaint and never satisfied with anything. I sympatise them for they do not know how to enjoy life and being appreciative and never knew the word of thank you!



Anyway on the 22nd of May, we were invited to the Istana Iskandariah Kuala Kangsar for the Istiadat Menghadap Sembah Taat Setia dan Penganugerahan Darjah Kebesaran Negeri  Perak inconjunction of the 84th birthday of the Royal Highness of Sultan of Perak. Actually this function should have been done on the 19th of April but it was postponed because it was the mourning period of the royal family for the lost of the Sultan's son Raja Ashman Shah.

Aqiqah for baby Armani

That Saturday, the whole family attended a khenduri aqiqah at my sister in law's house. She's my hubby's eldest sister, my favourite SIL. Kak Zainah is more like my very own sister, a friend n a medical advisor (she was a nurse). I dont have many SIL on my husband side only two but they are the best! Happy for her for having the first cucu, a baby gal, Nor Armani. It was simple yet very nice, ada murhaban n her cucu is so cute n alamak soo much food till i've to take some back home. My parents n my brother's family were also there at the khenduri.

gave her a prune cake.

I would like to share with all my viewers the recipe of prune cake. It's lovely in taste n suitable for khenduri (blh.dpt.byk)

Prune Cake

16oz/480g butter

13oz/390g brown sugar

1 can pitted prune (best if 500g)

1/2 can evaporated milk (or 1 cup)

9 eggs

13oz all purpose flour

2 tsp.vanill essence

11/2 tsp.baking powder

Beat butter n sugar until well mixed. Put in the eggs one by one, flour,milk, n vanilla essence.Lastly put in the prunes that has been sliced thinly into the cake mixture. Bake it at 180 c for 50-60 mins.

So happy trying!

Happy Mother's Day!

It has been almost a week since i wrote something. It's not that i'm busy... but well....having this lazy syndrome n also just not in the mood to write.
Yesterday, we were busy at our neighbour's house helping with their son's wedding. It's the tradition in our neighbourhood where all of us will be helping each other in any khenduri.
It's a small world indeed when the bride is the daughter of my hubby's long lost second cousin.

My two angels dira n faiz came back for the weekend. That saturday they wanted to take me out for lunch or dinner but we were very tied up with the wedding and in the night we hv to attend the mother's day dinner organised by the girl guides. It was held at Impiana Hotel. The guest of honour were DYMM Raja Permaisuri  Perak Tuanku Bainun and DYTM Raja Puan Besar Perak Tuanku Zara Salim.  The special appearance for the night was none other than the singer with the sweetest voice, Dato Siti Nurhaliza.The night was filled with music, laughter n some fascinating prizes of lucky draw . Overall it was a very successful night n it should be given credit to the Yg Dipertua Persatuan Pandu Puteri Perak Raja Nor Mahani Raja Shahar Shah for her supportive effort to the girl guides.

That Sunday we decided to celebrate mother's day at Pakeeza's Restaurant. The restaurant was in fulled house....everyone is celebrating it!

manjanye anak ma.....my darling hubby must be very hungAngry after a strenuous golf game! hehehe

Nothing is more satisfying than to be spending precious time with your love ones regardless on mother's day or whatever day....togetherness is happiness!

It has been almost everyday the news of the riots are shown in the papers....

Cant help feeling put off towards whatever is causing it....

What actually are they mad about or to whom are they actually angry at?

The young ones especially should be stop and punish for being so out of control....damaging the environment and hurting others! It must be contagious.....
They're behaving as though they're being victimised or any members of the family hv been raped or murdered!

Behaving as though their very own feelings only matters.....what about others.....those who want peace n contentment....
You 've got so much ahead of you....why waste it!

Are these people really aware of the purpose they're fighting for?

Why suddenly everybody is so terribly angry?
STOP being influenced......

What they really should do is to enrol themselves in the anger management....haha! That will do it!

There are tons of wonderful things to do besides throwing yourself into the dungeons.....

It's a wonderful world!.....why waste the effort to be so negative n so naive....STOP accusing others for your own mistakes n your short comings. And above all simply LIVE .....in a correct n decent way!

something that i make for breakfast...pulut kuning n some other lauk like rendang daging, chicken curry n sambal tumis ikan bilis to go with it....nice n tasty!

it's puff pastry....i fold it into triangle n stuff some potatoes filling in it.

some left over puff pastry i turn it to quick n easy apple tart.

Quick n Easy Apple Tart

Ingredients

1 whole sheet puff pastry, cut onto half or thirds

4 whole apples, cored, halved, and sliced, but not peeled

1 cup brown sugar ( i reduce it to 1/2-3/4 )

1/4 tsp salt

a dash of cinnamon

Method

Preheat oven to 190 c.

Place puffed pastry rectangles onto a baking pan that's been sprayed with nonstick spray. Add sugar, cinnamon and salt to apples. Stir to combine. Allow to sit for a few minutes.

Arrange apples slices on the pastry rectangles in a straight line, overlapping as you go. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until pastry is puffed and golden brown.

Remove from pan immediately n place on a serving platter. Serve plain, with caramel topping, whipping cream, or a sprinkling of powdered sugar.
