BERHARI RAYA IN KUALA LUMPUR & CAKE FOR TWO...

Assalammualaikum....& how's everyone?

I'm sure everyone is having great weekends with your loved ones.

After all the mood of raya is still in the air!

With persuasion of the children we had made our way to KL...beraya diKL pulak.

And memang langkah kanan...sis Intan was having a raya open house...oolala!

lovely selection of food...hiya...makan,makan & makan!

must stop this culture & start keeping ourself fit.

so happy to meet some of the long lost cousins & relatives

Apart from having superb,delicious & mouth watering sweets & savoury...Hari Raya is the time of reunion among friends & relatives.

Jadi ambil lah kesempatan ini & let's forgive & forget....

Had visited my hubby's niece Norliana & her newborn baby boy @ Jln Duta but sadly....bro-in law & wifey were out.

just days ago she's a wife... & now she's a mother!

CONGRATULATIONS liyana!

AND

Meanwhile...one of the reason why we're there...it's cho dira's birthday.

And it was also the dear dad's birthday... a different of just three days.

Baked them a chocolate cake...

 

And to make my gal happy...gave her something 

delightful!

a birthday card signed by all of us & something girlish....

And as for dear hubby...his gift will be a SURPRISE...wink!


A birthday dinner for their dad....given by my two sayang cho & faiz.

lovely selection of sea food, fresh vegetables, fried rice & noodles & desserts ice creams n fruits.

Nak tolong promote tempat tu...di Flaming Steamboat Buffet ...somewhere in Bukit Kemuning Shah Alam.

simply marvellous something soupy & steaming....

You can eat as much as you like at a very reasonable price.

On the other hand...(sigh)! ape agak nye for my next birthday ya? 

Anything...from my loved ones tapi jangan batu & kayu udah!

Tapi batu berlian...i suka! hehehe....

THE KHATAM OF THE HOLY BOOK OF AL-QURAN

I should have update this earlier....but time is always not on my side.

Anyway...this event was the highlight of the sacred month....the khatam quran.

It was done at Annexe...belonging to Dato Mazidah. 

doa selamat sebagai pembuka majlis....

Malang nyee...alamak!...saya dah raya sebelum 

sempat berkhatam. All the hard work...the daily morning  practice end up just being the by-stander...aje nye ya!

salute to our tutor,hajjah ramlah for assisting us through out ramadhan.....

she's the naib johan tilawah al-quran dari cawangan kinta.

datin seri husainah grinning happily...maklumlah dah khatam quran!

our husbands were also present to witness the ceremony....but only after we had recited the holy book...of course ( malulah)!

speech done by the pengerusi of our area...dato hashim kasimon...giving all the supports to our ladies n to all the activities done by the residents.

besides pulut kuning,bunga telur ( sponsored by me) n some other goodies sponsored by some of us...dato mazidah had generously gave each one of us this lovely *reha*.

and dapat sijil penyertaan lagi....

This will continue to be our annual affair...tadarus & khatam quran...insyallah!

Nothing else matters than having good, understanding & cooperative neighbourhood.....

SELAMAT HARI RAYA AIDIL FITRI

I hope it's not to late to wish Selamat Hari Raya Aidil fitri & maaf zahir batin from the two of us & the rest of the gang!

As always Hari Raya is one of my busiest day.
It starts with the morning prayer at the Kuala Kangsar Mosque & followed with the Hari Raya feast at Istana Iskandariah K.Kangsar.

with one of my heroes...Rasyid.

...tea at the residence of our Chief Minister Dato Seri Zambri Abdul Kadir bersama rakyat &

with special appearance of Duli Yg Maha Mulia Raja Muda Perak & Raja Puan Besar Perak. 

Upin & Ipin pun ada sama!

Artiste Nubhan & Ezlyn pun ada ....

and US ...

the give away of duit raya to the orphans by Duli Yg Maha Mulia Raja Muda & Raja Puan Besar  Perak.

And the very next day after putting a night at my folks home....sibuk melayan my in-laws pulak dirumah.

And the 3rd day of the special day....some of my in-laws & mine came over for dinner at my place.

Unfortunately...i forgot to take pictures of the food that i've cooked...beriani, dalca,acar nenas & timun & my first attempt of masak ayam goreng bumbu lengkuas....bestt!

And as always my dear hubby had over buying the roti nan & capatis.

My hubby & me love having guest at our house...

After all the house is meant for families & friends. 

What is RAYA if not having great times with our loved ones!

I hope for those travelling back to their respective homes during this festive times...take care & drive carefully.*

*Dont let our negligence cause unnecessary grief to our loved ones!*

RAMADAN IS THE TIME FOR GIVING & SHARING

As always...every year during Ramadhan Baiduri, being the organiser will have this packing of goodies at SUK.

The rations are meant for our heroes... the armed forces out there in the field to protect our beloved country.

The food that were packed...nasi impit, kuah kacang, coffee & some other delicacies... and hoping they'll receive them before Hari Raya.

The pengerusi of Baiduri D.Seri Sharifah was there to witness the affair.

Besides Baiduri...other NGOs...Puspanita, Perkep & Bakat were also there to participate in the packing & distribution of the food.

Though it may not be much but the little things will make a lot of difference to those out there celebrating Hari Raya without their loved ones!

Mean while last Saturday i had attended a programme of girl guides...competition of reciting Al-quran (tadarus), story telling of our nabi2 & khat writing.

The guest of honour were Yg Maha Mulia Raja Puan Besar Tengku Zara & Yg Teramat Mulia Raja Puan Muda Raja Nor Mahani.

It was very interesting when the children present the stories with different style & expression!

Not only to the winners of the competition,
Raja Puan Besar Tengku Zara had also gave away some generous amount to the old folks.


And last Thursday....
I was at my hubby's office to break fasting with the rest of his staff & special appearance...anak2 yatim.

my hubby presenting some duit raya to the orphans.

we have this tazkirah before the solat tarawih

AND

What really made my day was the visit to the orphanage of Maahad Dar'us Salam at Jln Tambun.

The place is somehow ok...but still it need more upgrading...

Till now...there are about 30 children.

some of the goodies we brought....washing machine, towels,telekung & some washing liquid & detergent

AND

some money that we had managed to collect among us

She(umi)was telling us how she go about creating the place & the ups & down during those trying times......

She first started it after she had made a vow to take care of an orphanage once she recovered from a stroke.

Initially she had only look after the orphans but soon she had reluctantly accept children from broken families & mualaf or saudara baru where they are not accepted by the family.

Most people asked her what the children need most....

And she answered them....the children need LOVE!!

Looking at one of the children...i feel sad...

They're so independent at that very young age... unlike our children we cherished them with so much love, proper care & comfortable surroundings.

Hoping with the small contributions...could meant so much to them!
