PUSPANITA PERAK 30TH ANNUAL MEETING

We were welcomed with the National Anthem....
Negara Ku n...three other songs...lovely to the ears sung by the group choir comprised of representatives from different departments.

Our penaung Datin Seri Sharipah Zulkifli officiated the opening ceremony of the 30th annual meeting.

She was accompanied by the Pengerusi Puspanita Datin Nor Hasmah n Timbalan Pengerusi Datin Hurul Ain.

A very good n supportive speech by the Penaung.

Hmmm....some of them are still not in the uniforms... or they might have just enrol to be the new members.

A crowd puller...a number of stalls selling all sorts of ladies item.

We provided breakfast n lunch to all our ahli....

AND EVEN

Door gifts...

The turn ups were far more than expected....

about 1000 compared to last year's attendance;

700 people.

We even have to add more seats...

We start the meeting right after the tea break....

The commitee members were in line to present the Persatuan's expenditures n activities...

And prepared to be interrogate by the audience....ha ha!

SWEETS FOR TEA

Usually i will make cakes that are full with butter...cocoa powder...n even fruits like oranges...strawberries...apples n poppy seeds but this is exceptional.......

I love the smell n taste of the caramelised sugar.

This is also my first attempt...n it turns out 
GREAT!

Tak sangka yo...menjadi!!

Though the cake is soft to the touch... it doesn't has BIG holes.....!
What do they call it....sarang semut...
OR could this be the right texture....you tell me....

I guess this recipe...use only a little bit of bicorp.soda...maybe that explains it!

Tapi KEK ni memang sedapp...!!

Anyway i'll be baking this KEK GULA HANGUS again n again...n thanks to DARI DAPUR CT for the great recipe!

THE BOWLING...FRIENDLY GAME

Having a heavy heart...to say goodbye to the children. What more when they have spend many....many days at home.

My sis Intan put up a night at my place...
she need a lift to KL...

Anyway...prepared some food for them to take back to KL.

Look what i've got for them..

That very night we had a friendly game between LAP n SUK...at Ampang Bowl.

Thanks to bowling....at least it helps to ease the pain of missing the children.

the former chairman of lap tan sri tajol rosli was also invited but unfortunately puan sri cant make it due to unforseen circumstances.

We proceed to Dato SUK's home for supper... n the prize giving ceremony.

being the organiser....my hubby start it with an opening speech.

semua pun ada....it was very late....macam nak bersahur!

what do you know....i'm one of the top 15 (for ladies)only  yeeehaaa!....got me a voucher.

a token to the pengerusi puspanita....

the voucher  is not enough to cover the cost of the new bowling bag....the old one was badly abused.....hehehe!

ha..ha...flashing away my wining voucher......

The tournament should be a start to a new beginning of inter friendly game among officers n staff...

AND it should be continue with other sports...

as part of a break from the busy schedule of their hectic responsibilities.

WHEN EAST MEET WEST

When the children... (dira n rasyid) are still here till end of the week...mama will try to be creative with her cooking.

I love it!..the children love it!.. but... the father....not quite his cup of tea.

He loves spaghetti bolognese of course...but not macaroni...too bad!

But he tasted a little bit...just to please me...

ahh....perfecto...!!

Though it's my first attempt...the macaroni is superbly done!...it's like i've been baking it for ages! (angkat bakul sendiri ) he!he!he!

I love baking it in the melayu version(spreading fried onions, some red chillies, onions n parsley leaves )...but at the same time i do spread some cheese on top of it...just like; when east meet west.

Baked Macaroni/ Makaroni Bakar

350g elbow macaroni (boil n toss it)

300g mince meat

1-2 big onions minced to tiny pieces

2-3 cloves of garlic

4 tlbs of meat curry powder

1 tlbs of kurma curry powder

1 tsp sugar

salt to taste

little bit of oil

2 tlbs of butter

3/4- 1cup evaporated milk

4 eggs

1/2 cup grated mozarella cheese

Fried the onions n garlic till slightly brown... add in the curry powder n minced meat.

When the meat is cooked pour in the macaroni,sugar n salt to taste.

Meanwhile...beat the eggs n combine with the milk.

Next mixed in the eggs n milk to the filling. Let it settle for awhile then spread some cheese on top of it. Bake at 180c for 30-40 mins.

AWARE N BEWARE!

I've been busy scrolling down the web-site...
searching n finding facts about fibroid. The thing that's bugging me at the moment.

Now i'm trying to be aware n beware of anything that might harm me...mentally n physically....

What i'd gathered... fibroid, cysts or tumour are caused by excessive hormones of estrogen.

And one of the food that contains this estrogen...is the family of *soya*.
Maybe i've been eating them too much...

Even in the MSG monosodium glutamate... do produce this estrogen.
So STOP eating maggi mee....
(cepat dimasak...bahaya dimakan ).

And WORSE...paraben...Parabens can mimic the hormone estrogen, which is known to play the role in the developement of breast cancers...

SCARY...haa!

Parabens are chemicals used as preservatives..
n can be found in shampoos,commercial moisturizers,shaving gels,cleansing gels,personal lubricants,topical pharmaceuticals n toothpaste,while they are also used as food additives.

AND most of all...parabens are widely used in our so called branded cosmetics!
It can be deceiving by changing the term of paraben to something else.

All these while i've been using clinique...n with regrets i shove it aside...n replace them with this new product from New Zealand....

ANTIPODES...it's organic n paraben free n it's the world highest antioxidant levels from grapeseeds...so i was told!

at the moment i'll start with the moisturiser n the sun block ...i still have some of the clinique cleanser n toner 

this body lotion is very smooth n not sticky n it's made fr natural ingredients...sweet  mild smells of roses

I'm not trying to be paranoid...am i??

Masa...emak2 kita dulu...jarang sekali dengar cases of cancer, fibroid cyst...n what not kan.

It must be the food... n the luxury life that everyone is having now ... we dont sweat anymore...we are so comfortable in the air-conditioning enviroment.

Haissyh...so how to live healthy...meh??
tell me....

Anyway...look at the labels before you buy anything!

Prevention is better than cure....

HAPPY REUNION DINNER

Dont think only the chinese could have a reunion dinner for their new year's eve....

Well...we do too!

We are malaysians...arent we!

The children are back...except lukman n they requested a steam boat ( on chinese new year night ) for dinner.

roasted chicken... with chili sauce n mustard

dira made this.... water melon juice...very refreshing after a spicy soup of tom yam

a true symbol of the new year!

 loogans n lycees to cool the throat...
