RAMADAN IS THE TIME FOR GIVING & SHARING

As always...every year during Ramadhan Baiduri, being the organiser will have this packing of goodies at SUK.

The rations are meant for our heroes... the armed forces out there in the field to protect our beloved country.

The food that were packed...nasi impit, kuah kacang, coffee & some other delicacies... and hoping they'll receive them before Hari Raya.

The pengerusi of Baiduri D.Seri Sharifah was there to witness the affair.

Besides Baiduri...other NGOs...Puspanita, Perkep & Bakat were also there to participate in the packing & distribution of the food.

Though it may not be much but the little things will make a lot of difference to those out there celebrating Hari Raya without their loved ones!

Mean while last Saturday i had attended a programme of girl guides...competition of reciting Al-quran (tadarus), story telling of our nabi2 & khat writing.

The guest of honour were Yg Maha Mulia Raja Puan Besar Tengku Zara & Yg Teramat Mulia Raja Puan Muda Raja Nor Mahani.

It was very interesting when the children present the stories with different style & expression!

Not only to the winners of the competition,
Raja Puan Besar Tengku Zara had also gave away some generous amount to the old folks.

And last Thursday....
I was at my hubby's office to break fasting with the rest of his staff & special appearance...anak2 yatim.

my hubby presenting some duit raya to the orphans.

we have this tazkirah before the solat tarawih

AND

What really made my day was the visit to the orphanage of Maahad Dar'us Salam at Jln Tambun.

The place is somehow ok...but still it need more upgrading...

Till now...there are about 30 children.

some of the goodies we brought....washing machine, towels, telekung & some washing liquid & detergent

AND
some money that we had managed to collect among us

She(umi)was telling us how she go about creating the place & the ups & down during those trying times......

She first started it after she had made a vow to take care of an orphanage once she recovered from a stroke.

Initially she had only look after the orphans but soon she had reluctantly accept children from broken families & mualaf or saudara baru where they are not accepted by the family.

Most people asked her what the children need most....
And she answered them....the children need LOVE!!

Looking at one of the children...i feel sad...
They're so independent at that very young age... unlike our children we cherished them with so much love, proper care & comfortable surroundings.

Hoping with the small contributions...could meant so much to them!

TART NENAS

This is my first cookie for this coming Hari Raya...woot woot!

Squeezing my time making cookies even with the busy schedule...not to mention beading as well beside mengaji & tarawih.

Syukur Alhamdullilah...my maid is extending her stay until a week after raya.

I've been trying to find an ideal recipe of pineapple tart....something different from the usual tart that i used to make.

Finally...i got it in dapur tanpa sempadan blog or mat gebu.

It's delicious!...so my hubby said when his hands keep on digging into the cookie jar after breakfasting!

It's something like short crust pastry but i change it to a different shape of mould.

Firstly....the pineapple filling.

THE HOLY MONTH OF RAMADHAN

Assalammualaikum.......

I'm sure everyone is having a marvellous time preparing food for iftar.

As for me...well...tahun ni tak berapa thrill lah.
It's because i'm preparing meals for two... or three plus my maid.

Anyway...this is one of the days of our food for iftar...very simple.

I've tried this recipe ayam goreng ala szechuan from kjee's blog n it's nice....something different from our usual ayam goreng.
I love the taste of the cashew nuts!

Fried tauhu with belacan & fried tauhu with kuah pecal....i'm so in love with tauhu!

hmmm...i must have any kind of soup for iftar.

It's our both favourite...grill salmon.
Usually on other days we will have each one but during puasa...satu ikan pun tak larat nak habis.

Since only the two of us are for iftar...i'm not in any mood for dessert...only of course the buah kurma.

iftar for two

Dont get me wrong....i know it's fasting...well...sharing is caring.
After all let's share idea of what to cook for iftar ya.

For the first time...our neighbourhood organise tadarus after solat subuh.

No doubt it's too early in the morning n my reading is... very merangkak...but it feel so good to be able to recite those surah-surah of our holy book of al-quran in a group.

Hoping we will continue having tadarus after Ramadhan....insyallah!

my very cooperative neighbours having tadarus at Dato Mazidah's resident.

Even though it's a bit tiring with the tadarus, tarawih & bersahur... these what make Ramadhan special & the most fruitful month of the year!

LAST FLING BEFORE FASTING

We had a bowling competition between the Istana Vs the Menteri Besar's team in conjunction of the Royal Highness DYMM Paduka Seri Sultan Perak's birthday.

The chief minister D.Seri Zambri Abdul Kadir made the first throw....

With D.Seri Sharifah Zulkifli,Toh Puan Temenggong & D.Zainab.

Followed with the prize giving at the resident of the chief minister & makan-makan of course!

Somehow... my darling hubby managed to get a reward tho it was not for the 1st place.

And unfortunately...i was not even close to the top 20...haha!

My overcooking the other day must have affected my stamina.

Hoping the fasting month...will gives us more strength to perform our religious duty & our daily commitments.

Anyway...happy fasting everyone & live to the fullest!

PREPARATION FOR THE COMING OF RAMADHAN

It's less than two weeks to the holy month of Ramadhan.
I'm so excited...even though i know i'll be having a tough time without my maid soon.
She might be back to Medan for a surgery...

Anyway...we (Puspanita) had a few line up of programmes during the month of Syaaban.
Kami memenuhinya dengan program2 keugamaan...
persediaan ke bulan Ramadhan.

We had invited Datin Seri Sharifah Khasif Fadzillah Syed Badiuzzaman (juara majlis Tilawah al-Quran Peringkat Antarabangsa)for a ceramah on Solat Yg Sempurna.

A petite young lady with a voice that captured a lot of hearts when reciting the verses of Quran.

theory & practical

young...pretty...& knowledgeable

And...we even called upon imam muda Jabbar to give some tips & bonus brim during the month of Syaaban & Ramadhan.

Even amongst our neighbourhood we create a culture of having ceramah ugama & majlis baca yasin & doa selamat for the coming of Ramadhan.

At my neighbour's house D.Seri Husainah.....
it was the same imam muda Jaabar giving more or less the topic of Ramadhan.

And recently... i had a majlis baca yasin & tahlil at my home.

Been too busy cooking & preparing for everything... i've only managed to capture a few pictures for remembrance....

Should have taken when everyone was reciting the surah yasin...

Thanks a million to my hubby's staff for helping me with everything....

Pheww!! It was a bit chaotic....when i have to cook most of the food myself...

Semua nak masak...mee kari, mee goreng, mee hoon goreng, prune cake, chocolate cake...& even pulut kuning & kari daging.

Trying to be the SuperWoman...& ended up feeling breathless!

The aches & pains are gone the minute my mee kari was praised to be one of the best!
Yahoo!

For compliments...the door gifts...simple & cute.

I maybe be feeling tired but....the satisfaction of seeing everyone with full stomach is enough to make me smile the whole day!
