Little precious time.........

I followed my hubby to KL on mon...since he's going to Melaka for a meeting he'll be dropping me at SUJ so that i could spend my time with my love ones faiz n dira for only one precious night......
Baked 'super fudgy brownies' for them......recipe fr. Yat easy bakes. Thanks Yat my children love it!!

Chocolate Chips Cookies
==================
190gm butter
45gm brown sugar
80gm castor sugar
220gm multi-purpose flour
1tbs corn flour
1/2tsp baking soda
11/2tbs cocoa powder (i put 2 tbs)
1/2tsp vanilla essence
170gm chocolate chips
170gm almond/hazel/walnuts broken to bits n roasted
1 egg yolk.
Beat the butter n sugars together until well combined. Put in the egg , stir, n combined all the flours n vanilla essence. Lastly put in th chocolate chips n the nuts. Bake at 170c until slightly brown.

a very simple,crunchy chocolate chip cookies- got the recipe fr.my sis in law.





Since i'm in kl,dira pun ambik le one day off for accompanying her mama...apa lagi...shopping lah!
thanks to this gps...for helping us find our way to Jln TAR. (one of my favourite spot when i'm in kl).

Lepas shopping terus to kemuning to sis iha's hse...being a good adik *wink* whenever i'm in kl sure to drop by her hse even for a few mins.... siap dapat bawak balik home-made cinnamon bread lagi....thanks sis it was lovely!!

Hubby came back jus before maghrib n we left to Ipoh after we'd performed solat maghrib.....sad to say goodbye to my dira.......tak dpt jumpa faiz....he went straight fr.office to play  futsal....goodbyes in the phone je....So bye bye to u all too!!...till the next post than......Cheerio!!

Perak Visit Year 2012

In conjunction of the Perak Visit Year, the department of tourism promotes Perak with event of the World Drums Festival 2012. It was held on the 25th Feb at 8pm on the Dataran MBI Ipoh. The guest of honour for the  captivating night was none other than our MB Dato Seri Zambry Abd.Kadir n wife. As usual we're one of the few head of department to attend.....

Yeap! it was captivating alright....the night was fill with thunderous sound of drums  from different countries of all over the world. They were mostly fr.the asian countries like Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam,India,Japan, Korea, Uzbekistan,Brazil n of course our country Malaysia. Since it was on Sat.night lots of youngsters were there enjoying themselves dancing n humming to the beats of the music......
Few of the foreigners were also seen among the crowds......biasa le 'mat saleh' ni suka sgt. benda2 unique mcm ni n tak segan silu menari sama with the music!

The event ended very late....almost to 1 am i guess cos we cabut earlier before 12 midnight. Tak tahan mengantuk sgt!!

Resolutions are not meant to keep

I met an old friend the other day n she was rambling bout losing weight by doing some vigourous exercise. I
must admit i envy her for she had easily lost a few kilos...It 's the other  way round for me pulak!
I've been saying to myself before i reach *50* i would like to lose a few kilos like i use to when i was 'younger'. I've tried to reduce my carbohydrates n fats intake n even commit mysef to a dance workout but all  the efforts are to no avail. Instead i end up masuk angin, nearly fainted n feeling really really miserable!!
The end result is also not promising either, i manage to lose only 1 miserable kilo...and the worst part is cos i deprive myself too much from the pleasures of food i end up eating more than i should! Must i blame it on my competent maid for doing all the house chores sehingga i meriba jari or should i blame it on the functions n dinners that i've attended many a times. That already shows how weak n undetermine of me to fight this battle or partly blame it again on the age issues.
Looking at my dear hubby...he's been eating like for *two* but didnt even put on a kilo. Lucky him!!
Lately he'd even lost a few kilos ...either his metabolism rate is very high or the work loads n the responsibilities tires him down. I used to ask him the same question over n over again ' yang, do i look fat'? and his same ole answer, ' no you're not, you are ok, gebu je sikit'.....arghh !!!.....Ahh!! whatever it is... i have to face the fact that age is catching up n maybe i'm not strong enough to take the challenge...but i must say i'm thankful for not surviving on any daily pills n that still tolerable to look at especially in my jeans n kebayas...*mengancam lagiii* hahaha!!.

Mama's boy.....

It's Monday n i'll  be sending lukman back to his college at B.Mertajam. I'll send him after lunch since his class  starts at 4 pm..Before i do must prepare something for him to take back ....he loves the 'chocolate chip cookies'... I've tried several recipes but this is the best.....delicious,simple n no fancy ingredients.I always hv a soft heart whenever my children are leaving the hse...moreover his the youngest...The sweetest thing that he ever did was last week end ,he went to Langkawi with his class for an educational trip. In Langkawi he called me up and said, "ma do you want some tea set or pinggan mangkuk, i'll buy for you".Oh so sweet........definitely i say a big NO! he's still a child n i'm afraid he had not enough money to survive that month.....well that's my son!!

Motherly love......

Dah lama tak macam ni......struggling n battling in my kitchen...cooking n serving to who else?? my dearest hubby n my darling children of course...Lately i was not very energetic to create extra ordinary recipes for the family....jus a simple basic cooking. I'm jus beginning to get over my running nose n dry throat....must be the weather.....arghh! This week end all the chidren are together again....faiz n dira r back n so is lukman....  thanks to my small n cosy wet/ dry kitchen, the pots n pans n everything in it...... Imagine i started cooking the minute i got back fr. tesco at 11.30am till 8 pm....  only managed to stop for prayers n makan aje....though i was so drained out but i'm happy n satisfied cos they luv my 'air tangan' sehingga menjilat jari.....hehehe!

Holy friday...

I've been attending my weekly friday activity in my hubby's office for learning 'tajwid' n reciting 'quraan' during the long lunch break.. The class was opened about a few months ago but i've jus enrol myself about a mth.... Ape sudahnye kene le belajar nak betulkn bacaan...we 're taught by Ustazah Mazima, a very sweet young lady....in fact she's so much younger than us. Agaknye pening kepala ustazah tu mendengar bacaan studentnye yg bermacam2 bunyi dengu....nevertheless... 'practise makes perfect' kan kan.....!!

Petang jumaat tu i was invited to my ole neighbour's hse.for a ' naik buai' cucu nya...quite a grand ceremony sebab majlis tu menyambut maulidur rasul sekali.....though the 'marhaban' took about 1 1/2 hrs.it's worth waiting cos we were served with so much food like soto, mee rebus, nasi tomato n kuih muih manis....not forgetting dapat 'door gift ' lagi...bunga telur....hehehe!

In my garden......

It's been quite awhile for me to indulge in gardening due to the extreme weather lately... it was very hot n humid but thank God these past days are a little bit cooler.
I luv to to be in my garden n among my plants....they sort of give me peace of mind n contentment..... Jus cant
believe they've grown so fast....i did it with my two bare hands n of course with the help of my (setia kawan) maid, Seri.... cant imagine life without her.She's everything to me...my gardener, cleaner, consultant, etc...she's with me for the past ten years.

Salam Maulidur Rasul.....

During the month of maulidur rasul there're so many programs shown on tv n even 'ceramah' organised by individual for our beloved prophet Muhammad SAW as the chosen one n his life journey.....
Looking at his wondrous personality, none of his umat could ever be like him . And if most of  us could at least have half of his personality than what better place this world could be.....
Patience, forgiving, loving n caring n obedient towards God's teaching are all of his good qualities that we
should follow n practise.
Yesterday i've attended a ceramah sempena maulidur rasul at one of my neighbour's hse, Dato Wira Jamaluddin....The talk was given by Ustaz Harith Fadhillah fr.Jabatan Ugama Islam. Unfortunately there were only a few of us... since it was on Saturday, i guess some of them could have gone out station for weddings or what not....
What better words to express our prophet Muhammad SAW characters  n his  preaching to the people of  arabs during the 'jahilliah' times....
If only we could have his strong character when facing any obstacles that come in our daily life.....be it our relationship within our family circle or with the people other than our family than life would be as sweet as roses....
One thing that really captured my heart... whatever we do n no matter  how hard we tried everything is already fated n that ALLAH only knew....but that should not be the reason for us to stop trying....i believe that if our hearts are sincere n redha in whatever things that we do or ask for than there's no reason why we should fail. And if we should fail just accept it n live with what we have..there are others who are less fortunate than us..life is not always a bed of roses..Ikut sunnah Nabi Muhammad SAW, always start everything with a 'sincere heart' n an ever ready 'smile' n everything will be fine.......insyaLLAH

FOOd FOr THOUGHt

My first post of recipe : lemon poppy seed cake....delicious! though it's my first time baking it, it taste better when you pour the lemon syrup on top of the cake n let it sit for awhile before you cut n ready to eat!

No not rice again! that's what my other half told me...ok i'll bake pizza then...after all i still have to cook for tonite! We were not having lunch at home that Sunday. I was out lunch with the boys at a wedding ceremony n my other half lunched at the golf club after a golf competition. Pizza is one of my boys favourite n i've been baking it eversince.
